Our Old House - March 23, 2011

We close on our house today.  Many thanks to Jeff Feldman of RE/MAX, Edina, MN for helping us find this home.

We face some challenges getting it ready to live in but we have 2 months to do it in.

The house was built in 1902 according to the MLS.  But the MLS also said that it is 1963 square feet while the tax assessment says it's just under 1300 square feet and the amount of floors to be refinished totals around 1150 square feet.

The house has a living room, a formal dining room (with a cool feature... a plate shelf around the entire room), kitchen, breakfast nook, three bedrooms, a bonus room (which will be my office), a three season porch and a single bathroom (getting ready for work in the morning is going to be a challenge for Robyn and me).

HVAC companies are coming at 2:00 pm to give us bids on a new system (there currently is no furnace which you definitely need in Minnesota.)  Flooring companies are coming at 4:00 pm today to give bids on refinishing the floors.
