Things get boiling...

Spring 2015, saw us deciding to host a crawfish boil.  While we had a concrete patio, to Robyn’s chagrin, I decided a deck would be a great thing to have for entertaining.

Rather than attaching the deck to the house which would have required permits and the setting of piers below the frost line (more than 42 inches deep), I decided to build a floating deck using pre-case blocks.

As the deck was framed up, I had to leave flooring so we could get in and out of the back door.

Rather than using regular decking, I decided to use 2x6s as the flooring for the additional strength and durability.

Just in time for the crawfish which were Fedexed from Louisiana.

To be introduced to some Minnesotans.
